Christmas preparations

The Christmas season is well underway. The past week has been crazy, full of lots of activity on top of our usual hectic schedule. The weekend involved two adult-only parties, one at our friends D & C's house where Papa and I both attended and then my work Christmas party, which Papa opted for a cozy night in with the Flames game. It worked out for the best as my work crew gets a bit silly as the night goes on and I was able to stay later and enjoy the games and dancing, which we would have missed if we had had a babysitter.

Schmoo's skis are all tuned up and ready to hit the slopes, but I decided to wait another week as we are in the middle of a deep freeze. Our little town is frozen in temperatures below -10C, which is not normal for us. Plus we are still waiting for our first big dump of snow. The weather network is promising it is on its way this weekend.
We did manage to begin our Christmas decorating. On Friday, Bean and I got the tree up while Schmoo was at school and then we all decorated it before Papa and I headed out in the evening. Both kids were excited to put the decorations on. Saturday included a trip to the mall to see Santa, something we missed out on last year. Sunday afternoon we all went to the local live theatre to see a pantomime production of The Emperor's New Clothes. It was pretty funny and fun to pick out all the people in it that we knew.
Lots more Christmas activity on the way this weekend. We're in our mid week lull of activity today, but we have things planned starting Friday all the way through until next Friday when we will drive to Golden to see Uncle C and "Auntie" S.
