Fa, la, la, la, la.....

Schmoo has decided to sing. Despite her music teacher's grade that her participation in music class is satisfactory, she seems to be interested in choir. Friday the choir made their debut on the big stage, singing at one of our local Christmas events. It's a street event where they close down a block of the main street, bring in some live animals and set up a nativity scene with real people. There's free hot chocolate and hot dogs and lots of musical entertainment. Schmoo's choir sang three songs and delighted us all.
We spent about an hour downtown, visiting with friends, checking out the animals. The kids were happy for hot chocolate. Bean wasn't very keen on his veggie dog. We all got pretty cold at the end and made our way back to the indoor soccer arena where Papa was supposed to be a referee. His game got cancelled, so he arrived home shortly behind the rest of us for bedtime.
Saturday was another busy day. We had a quiet morning at home, always a treat after a busy week. In the afternoon, C & S came over to play. I took C and Schmoo up to the local Waldorf Winter Faire, while S and Bean had a playdate with Papa. C's mom came and met us up at the faire and we have a lovely girl's afternoon out. Home to get organized for a night out for Mama and Papa. We ended up hustling from one thing to another. A quick dinner with C & K, with C & D joining us. A quick walk up the hill to one of our local playhouses for a Christmas comedy and then off to a house party that was very loud and full. There were lots of people to visit with, from both mine and Papa's soccer teams, as well as friends from school. Even our neighbour (yes, that neighbour) was there....so our visit was relatively short. Home in time to get the babysitter home before midnight.
Today was Papa's day to shine. He had a friend over to watch the soccer game while I took the kids to church. It was our turn to lead the children's liturgy. Bean had a birthday party in the afternoon, so Papa and Schmoo headed off to the pool for some alone time and I was able to come home for a two hour nap. Everyone came home happy and snoozy. We had a scrumptious pork tenderloin dinner and are now settled in for a quiet evening.
