Exciting news from the Packham house

The tooth fairy lands for the first time tonight! After a long period of wiggling her tooth, Schmoo yanked her own tooth tonight. I thought for sure that it would be gone while I was away this past week, but it endured. Today after school she was fussing away with it and it even started to bleed. I was unsuccessful in pulling it out. Mostly because it made me feel kind of queasy. I took her with me to work before bedtime for 1/2 hour and she immediately asked for a Kleenex. I turned my back for 2 seconds and she announced "I got it". "All I had to do was push it back, Mama" she explained.

She was SO excited. She talked non-stop, once the bleeding stopped and bounded into the house to tell Papa when we returned. She immediately got her tooth box out and got it positioned under her pillow. Let's hope the $2 the tooth fairy brings is satisfactory.

On another exciting note, it was the first day of December so time to get out the annual Advent calendar. In the past I've opted for the pop out chocolate variety, but this year I found these amazing Playmobil calendars that create a scene over the 24 days. A perfect gift from Nana!!
Unfortunately I failed to read the box before I gave it to the kids and didn't realize that they required about 20 minutes of adult set up before they were ready to go! The kids patiently waited in the other room while got both boxes organized and they finally were able to open day number one! They have both taken the boxes into their rooms with strict instructions to only open one window a day. We'll see how long that lasts!!
