It's been a busy week. We had a great weekend last weekend with Carolyn and Lara, who returned to Spokane on Monday for the rest of their American tour. Schmoo loved spending the day at the ski hill with Lara, who got to see snow for the first time and learn to ski! By the end of the day we had her skiing down some chairlift runs with us.
This week has been back to the routine. No more birthday celebrations, just work, school, activities and meetings. We hosted an impromptu family pizza party on Friday night to watch the Opening Ceremonies for the Winter Olympics. Too bad someone didn't remind me of my learning experiences from a couple of weeks ago, as both kids managed to entertain our guests with fantastic hysterical meltdowns! Oh well, something to remember.
Today has been about shuttling Schmoo around to birthday parties and playdates, while sneaking in a trip to the lake with Bean and Papa to feed the ducks. This is how the boys have spent most weekend days when Schmoo and I have been up at the ski hill. He loves it! I also snuck in a nice long chat with two friends from far away....what a treat! And a visit to the Grand Opening of our friend's new spa here in town. My appointment is now booked for my pedicure later this month to get my toes ready for our Mexican adventure next month!
Hopefully we'll have well rested kids tomorrow to celebrate Valentine's Day with happier faces all around. Schmoo and I have an afternoon date to the ballet and then family dinner!!
