I was transported back to my childhood today. Canadian children's entertainer Fred Penner is in town for a show in town this weekend and one of the local elementary schools had him perform at the school and Schmoo's school was invited. I can't actually remember ever seeing Fred Penner in concert as a kid, but I can certainly remember his classic "The Cat Came Back". I jumped at the chance to take Bean along for the show too.
It was a great show, full of lots of interaction with a gym full of kids. Schmoo and Bean seemed to enjoy the show. Bean spent most of the time lying on the gym floor in different positions. I can't imagine he had much energy after keeping me up most of the night last night with visits to our bedroom. In the end, I probably enjoyed it more than they did. I was especially excited when he started singing "Sing a Rainbow", which I can distinctly remember having to sing with my Grade 6 class for the Kiwanis Music Festival. (This link is just the song, not Fred Penner singing). What's even funnier about this song is that when I started singing it in Golden at Christmas, Auntie S and her sister P both started singing with me!! The concert ended with a lively rendition of "You are my sunshine".
The rest of our week has been manic. Lots of grown up responsibilities keeping us bogged down at the moment. We've been busy with meetings and activities as usual this week. I'm busy getting organized for our holiday which kicks off next weekend when we head down to Utah to the DuPonts!! Lots on the go this weekend, with my Mexican pedicure scheduled for tomorrow before I do month end and hopefully one final ski day. Papa of course will be glued to the TV on Sunday for the Canada - USA hockey game...hopefully a final gold medal for Canada's Olympics!!
