What a weekend. It was another beautiful weather weekend here at home. A nice break from an otherwise rainy week again. Papa has enjoyed the first week of the world cup festivities, even commenting that it's been like Father's Day all week! He had another morning of soccer watching with phone calls from both grandmothers, thank you, and a plethora of home made items from both Schmoo and Bean. We left him in peace for an hour to do our Sunday School duty at church and then returned home for a quiet afternoon. Papa, unfortunately, had to make his daily trip up the road to our rental for a water check but returned feeling more confident than in the past that he was on to "something". Let's hope that this week will be the breakthrough that we've been waiting for. I managed to get Schmoo to have a big nap in order for her to catch up after her 4:00am wake up this morning. With a busy week of preparations ahead for her skipping show next weekend, she couldn't afford to be behind in her sleep.

Friday was an exciting day as Bean graduated from preschool. His school hosted a family potluck BBQ which is always full of noise and excitement. The kids got up on stage and sang a couple of songs to their families and then the "big kids" got presented with a graduation cap and certificate. The first of many school milestones.
Saturday had its usual round of soccer games in the morning, Schmoo with a double header. The kids got to enjoy one of their first outdoor dinners of the season with homemade nachos a la Papa while I spent the evening in a bingo hall doing my volunteer time for Schmoo's skipping club! It was a big money night with two big jackpots being won!
So the week ahead looks something like this
Monday - skipping
Tuesday - soccer
Wednesday - skipping
Thursday - school BBQ
Friday - skipping
Saturday - skipping
Sunday - skipping big show
Let's just say we'll all be glad when Monday rolls around next week....well, maybe not Papa who will be back to work!
