Just what we all needed
Can I tell you how good it is to be home? After a whirlwind week of life back in the grind, today was a welcome reprieve. Other than our usual does of Soccer Saturday down at the park with the kids, we had NOTHING on our list of things that had to be done. Sure the grass needs cutting and there's a few loads of laundry to do, but there's no emergencies to attend to. So we got to enjoy an afternoon and evening of just the four (okay, five with the dog) of us. The kids were very kind. They played happily all afternoon together, allowing Mama a long overdue afternoon nap and Papa an afternoon soccer game on TV. I even got to sneak out after my snooze for a power hike up Pulpit. My body is starting to forget the benefits of exercise, so it felt great to be outside, in the sunshine, sweating up the mountain. I returned to my family racing around the backyard. Papa was busy with the strimmer. Bean was busy hacking the foot-tall dandelions with his badminton racket and Schmoo was busy climbing the fence walls. We all spent extra time outside, just being together. The nice thing is that we have a whole other day of nothingness again tomorrow! Too bad it's forecasted to rain.
