Happy Father's Day

Papa sure has worked hard this weekend. I spent yesterday and this morning in Cowtown, delivering Nana to her flight home to England and spending a glorious evening on the patio with three special friends. Papa spent the weekend moving the kids' bedrooms, switching everything, including beds, toys, clothes, books from one room to the other. The kids were excited about the change and so were we. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but has led to more frustration. Bean's bed has decided to not go back together and we've spent most of this afternoon and evening trying to get it to go back together, with a crash each time we would put it back together and sit down on it. Papa also had the headboard come crashing down on his foot and the sideboard dove into the wall, leaving its mark. So not a great end to the weekend. The weather has turned too - so the first day of summer feels more like the first day of winter here.
I was thankful for many things yesterday on my trip to Cowtown. For S and Uncle C who came out to the airport to take Nana and I for lunch and good conversation. For my friends T, C and V who feel so far away most of the time - what a treat to just hang out together...it's been too long. For Air Canada, giving me a gate pass to walk Nana in her wheelchair all the way down to the gate. For Papa, who works so hard for his family.

So hopefully tomorrow will bring brighter skies. Nana is back home safely and we have lots of year end BBQs this week to keep us entertained!
