The week in review

Well, the first week of Grade One is officially over. I think it's gone pretty successfully. Schmoo has still be happy to get up and head to school, although she has been waking up later and later each morning. Good thing I have adjusted my work schedule in the mornings to accommodate both kids being at home a bit longer. She returned to the world of soccer this week too, with Papa leading the team through practice on Wednesday afternoon. Tomorrow is her first game of the fall season. Papa won't be there, as he's off on an overnight golfing adventure with some friends from work, but I'm sure she'll do fine under the direction of one of her other coaches.

Bean and I enjoyed a couple of nice leisurely days today and Wednesday when we had the whole day to ourselves. We found our way back to our old stomping grounds at the gym and Bean was welcomed back with open arms by the childcare staff there. My muscles aren't quite as happy, but it felt great to get back in action. We also managed to find time to make zucchini bread together and today we had a quick visit with my friend A and her two girls who are back (with their Papa too) from the States!!

We ended the school week with a quick playdate with Schmoo's best pal, K. He came over after school for an hour or so to play before I took him home and picked up our Friday night pizza. Both kids were more than ready for bed by the time we finished eating and I managed to get them to bed on time. I've spent the evening catching up on some TV programs I recorded on our new PVR and now will head off to bed. We have an early start tomorrow, as Schmoo's soccer game is at 9am!!
