When Mom's away....

everyone else makes foccacia bread.....

I headed off early this morning with D, up the valley to the annual Garlic Festival. It was a beautiful summer day, perfect for wandering around the market stalls, perusing the wares. It took about an hour to get there, so we were gone for most of the day. We returned with a bag of garlic and other goodies - a bunch of sunflowers, some homemade sweets, some organic corn on the cob. I returned to a happy family. They had spent the day together at home, making bread for supper. They were all outside when I got home and Schmoo was having a blast on her Dora waterslide, enjoying one of this year's last hot days. Bean was more interested in snuggling up with his Papa!

We had a wonderful chicken cacciatore dinner with the foccacia bread. The kids are tucked into their beds early, in preparation for a busy week ahead. Thanks for the nice day Papa - a bit of a break for Mama and a wonderful home cooked dinner. Every girl should be so lucky!
