After a long, long day on the road yesterday and a day of sitting in a hospital waiting room, I'm happy to report that all is well in Alberta. I was happy to make my way over the mountains yesterday, in a car filled with only my music and my thoughts, to help my mom up the road to her home in Lacombe and then to the hospital in Red Deer today for some tests. The doctor gave her a happy report today, easing many of our concerns. So now we're going to settle in for some girl time in front of the TV with some movies and a pizza.
We're headed back to Calgary tomorrow and whirlwind weekend awaits. Mom will do some visiting with her friends and I'll do some visiting with mine. Somewhere in there I'll sneak in some Christmas shopping too before I hit the road back to home on Sunday. I was happy to hear happy voices at the end of the phone tonight as Papa fed the kids their sausage supper. Sounds like they're doing just fine without Mama!
