And another week, I guess. The week ahead looks busy as I drop my eyes to my calendar here at the computer. Rhythm Ropers will be back in action tomorrow as will gymnastics. There's a meeting for Mama (where I expect to be sworn in as the Treasurer of the Parent Support Group at Schmoo's school...surprise, surprise on that one). Rememberance Day is in the middle of the week (and Cousin I's birthday, of course) so we'll have a home day to enjoy all together. And of course the week's round of soccer for Mama and Papa.
Last week was pretty uneventful. Schmoo and Papa both got a haircut. We spent most of the week talking about or avoiding the H1N1 flu that's running around town. So far, so good. Lots of handwashing and rest. Bean and I helped at Schmoo's school on Friday, being the end of the Grade One walking train down to the rec centre for their swimming lessons. It meant missing my regular Friday exercise class so I went on Saturday instead. I returned home to antsy children, so we made a last minute decision to get organized and head into town for the open hour at the gymnastics centre. The kids loved it. They ran around from apparatus to apparatus. Both kids loved the "hot tub" - a big tire tube filled with foam blocks. Bean spent lots of time on the trampoline practicing his star and tuck jumps and swinging on the rings. Schmoo loved the rope swing. We returned home for some quiet time to get ready for the arrival of some friends who came over to watch the hockey game with Papa while I went out for ladies night. When I left, the four kids were bundled up together in a fort in the kitchen corner watching Wall-E, the movie on the computer. All was quiet when I returned home later.
Today has been pretty uneventful. Papa went to a friend's house this morning to watch his Sunday morning soccer game, returning in time to say good-bye to us as we headed out to church. Home for another movie afternoon. Papa watching a grown up one on the TV, the kids watching theirs on the computer, me snuggled up with my book on our bed. Family dinner is filling our house with yummy aromas as I type!
