A Week of DuPonts

The cousins have come and gone.  The house has gone from a frenzy of hyper children running around playing hide and go seek to the regular rhythm of sibling dynamics between Schmoo and Bean.  It was so nice to have the DuPonts here.  They arrived under the cover of darkness on Monday night while I was out at soccer.  Poor Auntie E spent the next 36 hours close to the bathroom, suffering with a stomach bug.  So Tuesday, Bean and I spent the day with Cousin I.  We took her on our usual journey, dropping Schmoo at school, a trip to the gym and then lunch with the Ya-Yas.

The kids loved having their cousins here.  Baby R, who is no longer a baby, but a big boy 2-year old, was "fun" now, as Schmoo announced.  It was so much fun to hear him chattering away and giving snuggles to his Auntie Kie.  We were sad to say good-bye on Friday morning as we hurried off to school, knowing they would be gone when we returned.

The week has also been full of regular life activities.  Papa and I went back to our soccer nights.  Papa added another night on Fridays, where he's the referee of the two co-ed league games.  Schmoo was back at Rhythm Ropers, Bean back at gymnastics and both kids started swimming lessons on Tuesdays.  It was a very full week.

So it was nice today to have nothing planned.  Papa spent the day up at the rental house, being Mr. Fix-It while I spent the morning at home with the kids and then took them to gymnastics for some playtime.  I'm hoping to get back up to the ski hill tomorrow afternoon with Schoo.  We had another successful day on the slopes last Sunday, skiing the whole day with her friend H.
And then it will be Monday again....
