This blogging stuff sure is hard work. I had a function to goto last night....a fun evening with Auntie E in fact and a bunch of our old co-workers from what shall be referred to in blog world as the Evil Empire! We had some good laughs about the horrible times we had there and had a great evening. Problem was, I got home late, too late to be creative, so the blog went unattended for the evening. Luckily Miss Z woke up way to early and so my Latte in hand, I write.
Mrs. P had a lovely Monday, after some form of strenuous activity in the gym, she took the kids over to the pool for their first swim lesson of the summer. Apparently they both had a fantastic time! Then she got them home and they all napped for the afternoon. No idea how she does that, my team won't go for it!
It was a lovely sunny day here in Calgary, then mid afternoon a freak storm blew through that lifted the trampoline off the ground for a few seconds. That was enough for me to go into emergency preparedness mode, especially since a tiny tornado had touched down in Airdrie the day before, a small town to the north of us. The radio told us that a sever weather watch was in place and that the clouds had the right composition to create funnel clouds. I closed all the blinds ( a trick I learned in Vancouver ) so that if a window were to break, the glass shards would not cover the entire room. We then hid out in the basement until the storm passed. Very Wizard of Oz. 30 minutes later, the sun came out and we surveyed the dammage, not too bad, just loads of branches from our trees on the ground. The trees are birch trees and at the end of their lives, so the branches are weak and snap easily.
Then Dad came home and I left for an evening of adult company with Auntie E. All in all a great day. Gotta dash off now, I've invited some friends over this morning for a play in my private park...that's what today's picture is. I do love the location of my home, backing onto this playground makes my kids very happy!
