Back to work for Mama today. Bean was up early, but fell into his morning ritual without any problem. We heard him come out of his room, go for a pee and then return to his room to play until he heard us get up. Papa took the kids out to pick up Airlie from her spring break holiday. Apparently she wasn't so keen on coming back, wanting to stay and frolic by the lake instead. Papa coordinated a playdate with C & S in the afternoon for the kids and I worked until about 2pm and then ran around trying to get Bean's birthday party stuff organized. He's so hard to buy for, but I think I've found a few things to give him from us, Grandma Lady and Nana.
I finally got back to soccer tonight. It was a sparse group, with lots of people away for spring break. I brought the kids with me as Papa had a movie date with his friend K to see the new Watchmen movie. The kids ran around with some other friends that were there and we were home by 9pm. Good thing it's spring break. I've just finished watching Grey's Anatomy from last week and am going to crawl into bed.
My thoughts have been on 4 years ago a lot today. Today's my "labour day". Significant times in the day - 4pm, going to the hospital; 8pm, getting the epidural have filled my brain. A couple more hours and it will be 12:01am and our little Bean will have been born. What a crazy moment in time that was and look where we're at now. I can't wait to shower him with attention tomorrow for his big day. I so very proud of him.
