She did try to boost her energy level up yesterday afternoon in a last ditch attempt to get to go to the kindergarten class party that I organized at the soccer arena with no success. I was so close to taking her, upset that she was going to miss out on the party that I had organized. But leaving her at home was the responsible thing to do. Instead Bean got to come and help me set up and run around for a bit before we picked up the Bolt DVD and took it home for them both to watch. The party was a big success. Everyone else had a great time.
Today was another disappointment for her as she had to miss a birthday party that she had been invited too. Again she tried to tell us that she was feeling better, but as soon as it became clear that she wasn't going, her true colours came out. After a restless night's sleep of waking children (both of them got up twice) and noisy neighbours, Mama and Papa weren't exactly happy souls. Papa got to spend some time out in the garden with Bean today though which made both him and Airlie happy. I went into work for a couple of hours because it looks like a home day for Mama and Sophie tomorrow.
Tonight I got to sneak out for a dessert date with my friend A and her friends. She's in town from Seattle where they have recently decided to move because her mom is sick. It was so great to see her, yet at the same time emotional as I know I won't see her now for a long time. And so ends the weekend. Here's hoping that everyone is feeling better for Wednesday when I'm scheduled to pack up and head south to Vegas.

No one said motherhood is easy. I feel the tug on your emotions with the recent decisions you have faced. Vegas will be a great break for you. See you there.
