Well, sure enough Papa was up before 5:00am with his jet lag. He was greeted with another early morning riser, little Miss Schmoo who came creeping in to me at 6:30am, asking if she could watch shows. My tired brain could hardly argue. Bean had a wonderful start to his day. He hardly came out of his room. He spent close to an hour rummaging around preparing things for Seal's birthday party. He wrapped up toys in his blankets and toys and got the cake ready using the Dora kitchen food. It was so cute to hear him chattering away. When Papa went in to ask him if he wanted the tea party set for Seal, he replied "no thanks, Papa".
We had ourselves organized for an early arrival at the gym. It's a fight for daycare spots down there these days, so in order to get both kids in, I usually need to be there by 8:30am. I had a good class and the kids had a good play. Schmoo has befriended a little girl, A whose birthday party she attended earlier this month, so is always eager to go and see her. After the gym we headed out of town a bit to visit my friend A who had her second baby on May 12th. Her older daughter G is the same age as Bean. The three kids had a great time playing together, allowing A and I to have a good visit. We both commented on how the kids are getting to a good age where they can play together. It's even easier when Schmoo is the older kid amongst the little ones as she likes to coordinate their efforts.
We returned home around 2pm and everyone managed to have a nap. Schmoo's was a dramatic affair as she had movie privileges removed when she kept coming out of her room. So instead she fell into a deep sleep. I managed to catch a few winks, which was a nice treat. We were all just getting up when Papa returned from his long day out at work. The kids had supper and then spent some time in the garden with Papa while I ran out to the store. They came in and watched Flushed Away again. I know, I said the movie privileges were removed, but since Schmoo had a nap and there was good behaviour, the privilege was restored. They've gone off to bed now and Papa and I are going to have shrimp caesar salad for supper and attempt to watch a movie. I'm giving Papa 20 minutes before he's out for the count!
