Life resumes and a first look at Alaskan highlights

A great first day back. The weather was good - sunny in the morning, but still warm in the afternoon. The kids slept in - Schmoo right til her alarm and Bean even later. With a late start we didn't make it to the gym early enough so I couldn't make my class, but we picked up dog food and a muffin and returned at 10am so I could at least go for a run. Afterwards we stopped by the Thursday mother's group looking for Auntie E and instead invited ourselves over for lunch at C & H's house. It was nice for the kids (and moms) to catch up. The kids had fun running around their backyard. The boys vs girls division becomes more and more clear almost every time. C & Bean chased the girls around trying to "get" them.

Home for a big quiet time. Both kids had a big sleep which was long overdue, especially with them both at daycare tomorrow. I slowly made my way through more laundry and sorting out the house. Oh and I managed to find the episode of Grey's Anatomy that I missed last week on the internet, so I watched that too. I spent some time out in the yard with Bean when he woke up, trying to rid the lawn of the dandelions. It's a slow process, but I'm hoping to try out the lawn mower tomorrow. Bean had a great time helping me pull the weeds and put them in the garbage. Both kids were up later because of their naps and Schmoo was still rummaging around at 9:30pm. I snuggled up on the couch with my leftover pizza from last night and a salad to watch the season finales of two programs tonight - Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy. Am really looking forward to my day "off" tomorrow, despite most of my time being tagged for cleaning up!

One of my to do's for tomorrow is get the pictures of Alaska out. I want to label them all with comments, so it's taking longer than I originally planned. Here's some pics of the "things" we saw on our trip though.....

PIRATES IN OUR STATEROOM

A WHOREHOUSE (in Ketchikan)

ICEBERGS (you have to look pretty closely but there is one there)

A COUPLE OF POLAR BEARS (one eating a seal for his dinner)
