Grandma Lady to the Rescue

My blogging has been sparse this week. With Papa gone and me getting organized to leave tomorrow, I've barely had time to get things done. Luckily Grandma Lady arrived yesterday, after a 3 day journey (Monday to Calgary, Tuesday to Lacombe, Wednesday to us), to back me up. With her generous help, I can depart for England tomorrow to be with Papa, Nana and their family next week, knowing that the kids are well taken care of. The kids don't seem concerned at all. They are more than happy to bid me farewell to be with their Grandma Lady. Today was a long day for all of us and Bean was practically falling asleep in his dinner when I got home at 5:30pm. We had a nice snuggle at bedtime and Schmoo went to bed without much fuss either. She has a new chapter book to start and it has 10 chapters, so she and Grandma Lady will read one chapter a day while we are gone.

We received some pictures from Nana today in the mail. One of them was a nice picture of Grandad sitting in his favorite chair. Schmoo asked whether she could keep it and put it in her picture book. Both kids liked the funny picture of Papa with his packet of chips!

So tomorrow's a big day for Mama. It's been snowing here today so flights didn't get out this afternoon. Here's hoping that the clouds lift at lunchtime tomorrow so I can atleast get to Vancouver for my 1/2 day layover. V and her little guy M are scheduled to meet me for coffee to break up my time in the airport. At this point, I'll just be happy to get out of here and into Vancouver so I can continue on to London. Bright lights, big smoke, here I come (I hope).
