A gaggle of girls

A quick anecdote before I head off to bed.....

Bean and I went to the spray park this afternoon after we had gone to the chiropractor (good news - my groin issues are definitely on the mend), done some shopping and went for lunch at the bakery. I managed to connect with my friend A and she came up to the park to meet us with her little boy F and daughter, A. The boys, who have been friends since birth, but haven't seen eachother for quite some time, quickly reconnected and had fun running around the spray park and playground together. There was a big group of teenage girls at the park too. They migrated to the playground after running through the spray park and positioned themselves on the monkey bars. Some just standing around and others hanging on top of the bars. They had a big tub of bubbles with them and were enjoying blowing the bubbles out into the playground. After a bit of time on the playground, the boys managed to get absorbed into this "gaggle of girls" and were soon blowing bubbles to their hearts content. They must of stood with these girls for at least 1/2 hour. The girls were happy to have them there, even engaging them in play a bit while A and I stood watching and chatting. I wish I had been able to get a picture. Bean's first moment surrounded by a group of women!

Off to bed now, another full day of work and a dinner date with a friend of my parents who lives on Salt Spring Island with his wife who is visiting our town.
