Wordless

I obviously don't have a lot to report these days. Maybe it's the hot weather or the sleepless nights (a combination of hot weather and noisy neighbours). The days have certainly been full though. Wednesday we spent the day up the valley with Auntie E and her kids. It was probably the hottest day yet, and the girls still insisted on jumping on the trampoline and running through the sprinkler, while Auntie E and I stayed inside with the boys. We did spend some time in the amazing raspberry patch, picking buckets of raspberries, some of which we brought home.

Thursday was a work day. Friday was a leisurely morning at home and then Bean got a playdate with a friend from school and Schmoo got to hang out with Mama and then spend some time at the park with Auntie E and her kids while I grocery shopped. Papa's big hike this weekend got cancelled due to the phenomenal thunderstorms. It's been off and on storms and sunshine all weekend long. At least it's broken the heat a little bit. Friday night was Mama's mojito night with a group of my friends (and Auntie E, of course). We had a great time just sitting around eating munchies and talking girl talk.

Today Papa opted for a day on the golf course and I hung out at home with the kids in the morning. In the afternoon, I took them to our local live theatre for a production of Willy Wonka being put on by the local youth theatre company. It was fantastic. I've been reading Willa Wonka's story with Schmoo so she could relate to what was happening for most of the show. Even Bean was able to keep up. We saw lots of friends and even got a bar of Willy Wonka's chocolate!

Another pretty relaxed day ahead tomorrow. We have a playdate planned with my friend A, who is back in town after being back in the States for 6 months so it will be great to catch up!
