Bean and I picked up some goodies for lunch before heading to Schmoo's school for our turn at reading with the kids. The school visit was mayhew today. The water station was set up on the veranda outside and a bunch of the kids were having a great time throwing the water around and basically drenching themselves. The kids inside were frantically trying to finish their Mother's Day gifts under the direction of the teacher and then me, once I finished reading with most of the kids. Even their circle time at the end seemed a bit chaotic.
We stopped at DQ on the way out of town to pick up a bag of Dilly Bars to celebrate C's birthday. The whole family (including K, the dad) were waiting for us and we had a great lunch together. Baby E even cooperated and slept the whole time so his Mama could enjoy her lunch. The four kids get along great. They spent the whole time running around together, playing, sometimes inside and after lunch outside in the big backyard. It didn't take long after lunch for them to come asking, or should I say, begging for their Dilly Bars. I coined them the Dilly Bar gang when I took a picture of them all together. So cute! We got some pictures of the birthday girls together and best buddies Bean and S before we left and headed back into town at 3pm.
We made a pit stop at the movie store for some movies for the weekend and returned home to a quiet house. Papa was out in town doing his after work errands and Friday afternoon social hour with his friend L. I snuggled up with the kids on the couch and we proceeded to watch "Night at the Museum". Once we got passed the scary T-Rex at the beginning, the kids seemed to like it. The sun has come out now after a rather cloudy day. At least it wasn't pouring with rain this morning when I hit the paths for my 5km run at boot camp. I'm hoping for a sunny weekend, with Schmoo's soccer game in the morning and Papa's flight to Cowtown and back again. Nana is already in London tonight and hits the road while we're sleeping tonight. I'm sure she'll be glad to see Papa tomorrow afternoon!
