Nana starts her journey tomorrow to Canada. It's going to be a long one, for sure, but at least she can take comfort in Papa waiting for her in Cowtown, ready to whisk her off for a nice meal and a good night's sleep before heading to us on Sunday. We're all pretty excited! Schmoo is extra excited because her birthday is just around the corner. The plans have been put into motion. A playdate for her actual birthday on Wednesday, a party on Friday afternoon with 9 of her closest friends and a family dinner on the weekend. We'll be all partied out! Let's just hope the weather cooperates so we can spend lots of time outside.
Speaking of weather, this morning's rain was absolutely torrential. I was thankful that today was an off day and I didn't have to gear myself up for an hour of boot camp at 6am. I'm hoping the clearer skies that found their way to us this afternoon will hold for tomorrow's 5km run. Papa was happy that the weather cleared in time for his first outdoor soccer game. Let's hope he doesn't come home battered and bruised the way I did on Monday night.
