The sun and warmth seems to have finally arrived here, after a long cold, wet spring. Today we were in shorts and tshirts, enjoying the sunshine and fresh air all day long. Bean and I dropped Schmoo off at school and then headed down to the local waterfall with another dad and his son so the boys could throw rocks, sticks and dandelions in the rushing water. The two boys were perfectly content to throw stuff all morning and we ended up meeting with another member of our "God Group" so had an impromptu discussion. Bean and I stopped at the local sports shop before picking up Schmoo so I could buy my new outdoor soccer cleats. Papa was well impressed when I brought them home. Apparently they're more expensive than the ones he wears!

We came home to pick up Nana before Schmoo so we could head down to the big park for a picnic. A quick stop at the store for sandwiches and we were on our way. Today was a perfect indicator of spring as the kids managed to find several of their friends down at the park, so happily played for a couple of hours. We had the squishy soccer ball from the back of my van out for a bit too, kicking it around. After a stop for ice cream at DQ, we headed home for quiet time. It was no surprise when both kids fell fast asleep after all their outdoor activity. I roused them in time to head out to another park to meet a bunch of other families for another kids' soccer group. Schmoo was into the soccer, especially since the star player from her soccer team was there too. Bean wasn't, and happily ran around the park on his own.

We've returned for baths and bedtime. Papa enjoyed his round of golf up the lake and now we're going to settle in for movie night.
