At last....a quiet day

Today was truly a Sunday. A big thanks to Auntie E for feeding the masses this morning so Mama could enjoy a bit of a sleep in and Papa could watch his soccer. We were happy to have Uncle R arrive safely last night with Auntie E after a their big drive up from Spokane. They headed out to the valley this morning for the day with their valley friends. Schmoo and I headed out to church this morning in the freezing cold, returning home for a quick lunch before taking Papa and Fraser with us back into town for a swim. We were all ready for some activity outside of our house. We had a great swim. We even found some friends. Schmoo's friend E was there with her Mom and then C & H showed up with their dad. The kids all had a great time racing around the leisure pool chasing each other. Bean took position on the bench by the bubbles and dumped buckets of water on the kids as they floated by. Schmoo and C had a great time on the waterslide and then Schmoo followed H's lead and went off the little diving board twice!

We returned home for some quiet time...and quiet it was. Both kids fell asleep, allowing Papa and I to snuggle up on the couch and watch "Hamlet 2", a ridiculous comedy starring Steve Coogan, the comedian we saw in London last month. Schmoo wandered out in the last five minutes of the movie and snuggled up on the couch with us. She couldn't understand why it was so dark outside. The DuPonts returned during the kids' supper and we finally got to sing Happy Birthday to Tooky and eat the chocolate gingerbread man that Auntie E had created on Friday. All four kids LOVED it!!

The kids are now tucked in bed and we're going to get to enjoy an adult evening of visiting (and TV watching). Mac arrived from the valley tonight, so we're now up to two dogs. I expect the third dog will arrive tomorrow with Uncle C and his friend S, making for a VERY full house!
