A reason to love Mondays

I think I have a new reason to love Mondays. Somehow, Bean and I manage to find ourselves having a snuggly snooze together almost every Monday afternoon. It's a perfect day to sleep away the afternoon, especially after a busy weekend and with a busy week ahead. Wednesday (being the other 1/2 day at school for him) we don't seem to be as successful with an afternoon nap. But Mondays are this little safe haven. Today even Schmoo had a nap. It was grey and rainy outside and after a busy morning at school and work, lunch at home and a bit of play time, we all settled in for a nap. When we woke up it was dark outside thanks to the disappearing sunshine at this time of the year. Papa and Airlie were gone out and the house was silent.

After some initial post-nap whining, I got the kids settled to watch Wall-E again before I had to take it back and made up some supper. It was nice and relaxed. They ate their dinner, watched the end of the movie and had a nice bath before Papa got home and I headed into town for soccer. I have to admit, I wasn't very inspired tonight. Even considered staying home. But I'm glad I went. Each week we seem to get a bit better. The coaching definitely helps. And tonight I was on the winning team. Even made a few good passes and challenges, without sustaining the minor injuries like last week. I returned to a quiet house, but with a little girl still awake with her Papa in her bed. Now I'm just finishing up on the computer and will head to bed myself because tomorrow will be a different story from today.
