Final day of 35....

Here I sit, on my final day of 35, waiting for the clock to turn. Okay, I'm not going to wait for midnight. I'm tired and ready for bed. Wednesdays are such a good "rest" day for us. There's rarely anything organized and it's a short day. Today we took advantage of just being at home after a stop at Quizno's for a Mom and Happy Kid lunch. The Happy Kid tactic was only mildly successful. It got Happy Kids in the car, but there was immediate mini-meltdowns at various parts of the lunch experience. Both kids wanted to sit beside me. Bean got upset when I poured all of his fish crackers out on his napkin. Bean got upset when he couldn't have strawberry juice after he had already gotten upset about insisting on having milk instead. And somehow, he refused to sleep during quiet time, but Schmoo did.

We did make through to bedtime without any major upsets. We finally tackled Schmoo's homework assignment of drawing a picture of one of her favorite stories that I will read to her class on Friday. We've made several attempts which have all been met with meltdowns by Schmoo for one reason or another. But today, after quiet time, we all got up to the breakfast bar and managed to put together a picture together.
I was able to sneak out with Papa got home for a trip to the gym. I quickly realized the difference between a good aerobics instructor and an average one. Tonight was one of my favourites, who I haven't had in ages because she usually teaches in the mornings. It was a killer workout, but I left feeling great! Home to a wonderful beef stirfry a la Papa. I am truly lucky to have such a wonderful husband. And tomorrow's my birthday! Let the festivities begin!!
