Soccer Sunday

What a great way to end Valentine's weekend, with a couples soccer match at the indoor arena! A group of us from my women's group have been talking about it for a few weeks and we managed to get 5 couples organized for a kick around. Well......an hour and a half later, we were all spent. We played boys vs. girls, with the girls getting one of the men in net (thankfully) so the men could really shoot. It was great fun. The girls managed to get quite a few goals and give the men a bit of a run for their money. It was all good preparation for next weekend when we're hoping to enter a team into a local indoor tournament. The couple that runs the arena had some yummy snacks for afterwards - brownies and cheesecake! The kids did great too. One of the couples has a 12 year old daughter that they brought along to keep our two munchkins, as well as their 6 year old occupied. Both Schmoo and Bean were over the moon. They had met R (the 12 year old) at Christmas time when we were at a friend's house for a party.

We all returned home after 4:30pm exhausted. Last night it was Bean's turn to keep me up. He is so much like me....a person who needs their regular sleep. Going to bed late last night did him no good. He was up at 4:45am and couldn't settle himself back to sleep. Instead he kept getting up every 45 minutes. Finally at 6:30am I went and lay in bed with him and he managed to sleep for another hour. After some convincing, Schmoo came with me to church. I still don't think she was feeling 100% and I had to endure her whining after she finished Sunday school. But all in all it was a great family day.

Tonight I got another treat - a girls' night at the movies. I met my friends C & D down at the local theatre to go and see "He's Just Not That Into You". It was cute. But certainly reminded me how thankful I am to NOT be dating and what a wonderful husband I have, especially after the wonderful dinner he cooked up for us tonight when we got home. Now it's off to bed. Papa's got a 4am start to ride around on the delivery truck all day and Schmoo's got a long day at school. It's a professional development day for her teachers, so she's at the after school program all day and they're taking them bowling in the afternoon!
