She shoots, she scores....for real!!!

I started to type this title, only to discover I've used it already. So it had to be modified. What a weekend. Our Monday night soccer group played in our first every game, which was actually three games, because we were supposed to be in a tournament, but there were only two teams, so we played them three times to make it worth their travels from Cranbrook. We lost all three games, but progressively got better. First game - 12-4, second game - 6-2, third game 3-2. And guess who scored?!!! Not once, not twice, but THREE goals!!! One in the first and then both goals in our last game. It was exhilirating. I made sure to put on a good show for Schmoo and Bean and Papa who were watching in the bleachers, running down the bench high-fiving the rest of our team. It was hard, hard work playing, but we all had a great time and learned lots!

There was a men's tournament on this weekend too, that Papa played in. So most of our weekend was spent either playing soccer or being with the kids so the other person could play soccer. They did great, mostly hanging out at the arena with us. Schmoo did get a playdate on Saturday morning with her from K from Friday night's movie night, so that made her happy. And today after my game, I came home with them and they watched Madagascar 2, the movie while I snoozed. Papa ended up playing 3 games in a row after I was finished, so he's off to bed early. We've spent the evening snuggled up on the couch watching the Oscars. The kids watched the beginning part of it and Schmoo was fascinated by all of the "beautiful people".

So it's back to the grind tomorrow. Less than 2 weeks til Mexico, with month end this weekend. Let's just hope I can get up out of bed in the morning after this weekend's hard work!
