but in the end, I couldn't help but volunteer to coordinate an event at Schmoo's school. I've been trying very hard to just attend the monthly meetings and stick to coordinating the grocery card campaign. But at tonight's meeting, when we were talking about the annual Family Spaghetti Dinner, which was still without a coordinator, I....just....couldn't....resist. There's too much of an organizer in me. So I threw my name into the table and it was instantly picked up. So May 2nd will be my debut! I'm sure it doesn't surprise you that I started writing myself little notes on my agenda at the meeting...questions about events gone by.
So that's where I was tonight. At the school parent support group meeting. Luckily Papa's soccer game is late tonight so we were able to swap our time again. He managed to have a nice big pre-game snooze to keep him going for his 9:45pm start! Ouch! I've been struggling to get to the soccer field for my 7pm starts, I can't imagine trying to get motivated for almost 10pm!
We had a long day today. I did manage to finish a bit early today. My friend C had called last night to see if her kids could come for a playdate at 3:15pm while she went to the doctor, so I had extra motivation to finish early. I managed to finish up at 1pm and have a leisurely lunch on my own before heading up to Schmoo's school to count my grocery cards and pick up Schmoo early. Both kids were excited about having C & S come over to play. They all play so well together and it's nice that they each get a playmate. The noise level was pretty high though. Lots of running back and forth between bedrooms. They headed home around 5:00pm and I ate dinner with the kids. Tomorrow is our mid-week, quiet day. My calendar consistently has nothing on Wednesdays, which is probably a good thing for all of us. I've still got this lingering cough that is just hanging on to annoy me, I think.
