Snoozy Saturday

Another restless night last night. Both kids were up at one point or another. At least the dog was relatively settled. Papa was up early to seal coat the driveway, a project he's been talking about for most of the summer. The kids weren't far behind him - both of them up around 6:30am wanting one thing or another. I finally got out of bed for good at 8am to sort out breakfast and get organized for the gym. I was disappointed when I got myself there only to learn that the instructor had food poisoning so the class was cancelled. Instead I returned home to get the iPod and went for a nice run down by the lake. Papa and the kids walked into town to the coffee shop to meet me afterwards for a snack. Schmoo produced a $5 bill from her room (she couldn't remember where she got it from) and paid for her and Bean's banana bread pieces.

Back at home we went into a house cleaning frenzy, getting ready for Grandma Lady's arrival later today as well as my Uncle Joe and Aunt Penny's visit later this weekend. Auntie E arrived after lunch with her kids. They stayed for a playdate while she went into town for an eye doctor appointment. Our kids started to get unruly from being awake so early, so I finally put them in their rooms for quiet time around 2pm, just before Auntie E arrived and whisked her kids away. Papa went out golfing for the afternoon with a friend so the house was quiet. Both kids fell asleep so after reading my book for a bit, I too crawled into bed hoping to catch up on some sleep. We were all just waking up as Grandma Lady arrived. She had a bit of a snooze (well deserved after a 10 hour drive) while I fed the kids supper and then we all went in the back yard to be entertained by Schmoo and Bean and their "shows". They ran around singing and chasing eachother, pretending to be one thing or another. Papa returned home and got supper organized while Grandma Lady and I put the kids to bed. I think it's going to be an early night for all of us tonight.
