After a rainy week, it was a real treat to see and feel the sun today. The mornings and evenings have cooled right down, so the mornings start off with a sweater, but by mid-day today it was warm being out in the sunshine. I got a lovely leisurely start to the day. Papa was up early to watch soccer and see to Steed and Airlie. The kids were up early too, likely because of all the noise the dogs make. They headed straight downstairs to see Grandma Lady and L and I didn't see them until I was up and organized to go to the gym. I got to sleep in until 8am and then have a quiet breakfast. I took Papa into town with me to pick up his car, leaving the kids at home with Grandma Lady. I had a big workout and came home to find everyone organized and ready to go out. After a quick shower, we were all off in our cars to the local provincial park to watch the fish spawning and have a picnic lunch and play at the playground. We met up with our friends C & K, with their kdis C & S. The kids had a great time running around together and Bean, especially loved watching the fish in the water. Luckily we didn't run into the local bear who hangs out picking up the dead fish that float back down the channel.

Grandma Lady and L came along for a visit to the park and then carried on across the lake on the ferry to visit some of the local artisan shops. We had a great picnic and play with our friends and headed home for quiet time at 3pm. We all managed to have a big sleep. What a treat. I guess we're getting ourselves ready for the big week ahead. Schmoo came and woke Papa and I up at 5:00pm and Bean wasn't far behind her. I got the kids organized for supper and then Papa and I headed out into town for date night once Grandma Lady and L got back. We went to watch Pineapple Express, a crazy comedy and then went to the pub for wings and beer for supper. It was nice to be out, but we certainly noticed the temperature change once we came out of the movie theatre. We returned to a quiet house, the ladies watching a movie and the kids tucked into bed. It sounds like they had a great evening together.
