The Activities
It was birthday party day today. Schmoo and Bean's friend H turned 3 yesterday and today was her birthday party. So of course, both kids were chomping on the bit, ready to go at first light. Luckily the party was in the morning. Papa was up early to watch his Saturday morning soccer and Mama got the kids ready to go. I was able to drop them off a bit early so I could sneak off to my aerobics class. I returned, tired but showered around 11am to find the kids in good spirits and ready for chocolate cake. Bean is just like his Mama. He LOVES chocolate, any kind of chocolate. Schmoo on the other hand was happy to have a bit of cake and left half of it on her plate. She was more concerned with the smarties that were used for decorations.
After cake, the sugar kicked in and the kids (7 in total) had a great time attacking and getting tickled by C & H's dad. Good thing he was up for it. They also entertained us with their singing and dancing before the other parents arrived and we took our hyper kids home.
I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and returned with a flat tire. The car sounded funny on the way home and sure enough when I got out the front tire was starting to flatten. A job for Papa on Sunday, I guess. The kids were running around when I came in, still full of energy from the day. They both had a big bath tonight and settled into bed without issue. Saturday night means Hockey Night so Papa is watching hockey and I'm working on the computer. We had a steak dinner tonight, courtesy of his company. Yum!
Schmoo's Favourite and Not Favourite Parts of the Day
Favourite - H's party, cake and goodie bags
Not Favourite - when H took Schmoo's candy off her cake
Thoughts on the Day
It was a good day. I'm so glad that I finally got something out of my painting class. I was feeling pretty disappointed in the class overall, after how motivated I had been by my other teacher. She really helped me today (at my request) so I feel like I've taken some good suggestions away. Now I just need to find some good pictures to try out.
The kids had a great time at the party. Schmoo and H had a few struggles, but I think that was from H's excitement and possessiveness of her new toys. It was fun to see all the kids together. They are such a cute little gang of kids. Both kids were good about giving up the chewing gum that had inadvertently been put in their goodie bags. There were lots of little things to keep them occupied through the day from the bags. Now the countdown is on for Mama's birthday and then Bean's birthday. He's already started asking about his presents. It doesn't take them long to figure birthdays out, does it?
