Spring at last!

photos - Schmoo's attempt at photography, Bean trainspotting and the tunnel where we walk

Today felt like a true spring day. The sun shone all day and by the afternoon it was glorious and warm. It was still cool down at the park this morning when I took Bean there for a play with his friend F. I think we'll be wearing winter jackets for another couple of weeks, with the option to remove them if the sun is shining on us.

We had a nice day today. Schmoo came looking for me this morning and found me downstairs on the couch. Going to bed with a migraine last night made me less tolerant of Papa's snoring last night, so I found myself a quiet corner to try and get rid of the headache. I could hear her moving around the house - checking my bed, the upstairs couch, then downstairs to Grandma Lady's suite and finally to the couch downstairs. She was just looking for permission to turn her light on to play until the beep. What a contrast from her brother who just turns his light on and proceeds to scream at me irregardless of the time. And so started the day.

Schmoo was at preschool this morning. She went with the hope that I could coordinate an impromptu playdate for the afternoon. It didn't work out, but hopefully we'll have a couple of playdates set up for the next couple of weeks. Bean and I headed to gymnastics. Our friend F is in the class again and so is cousin I! The kids had a great time. Bean had a bit of a meltdown after class though when we had a disagreement over how he would eat his muffin. We left the changeroom with him shrieking "muffin" at me.....a bit of deja vu from a similar experience I had with Schmoo around the same age.

We made a stop at the post office, to mail Nana her excursion guide for the cruise next month and then picked up Schmoo to come home. We had a leisurely lunch and the kids headed for quiet time around 1:30pm. Both of them ended up sleeping, giving me ample time to get the suite cleaned up. I even managed to catch 1/2 hour on the couch before Bean started hollering at me. The kids had supper and watched Babar and then we took Airlie out for a walk down the hill and through the tunnel. It was wonderful to be out in the fresh air. Schmoo even tried a turn at taking a picture of me, Bean and Airlie.

Home for a big bath and bedtime. Schmoo has had an extended play in her room tonight since she had such a big sleep this afternoon. I contemplated taking her into town to see Horton Hears a Who again, but decided against it. Instead, Papa and I have had a nice dinner and now that Schmoo is tucked in, we'll probably have an early night.

Schmoo's Favourite Parts of the Day
Favourite - going for a walk and going to preschool
Not Favourite - when Bean hit Mama (not sure the exact incident)
