Get rid of that picture

Not a lot to report today, but important to post something so that the picture of that horrific spider is removed from the top of the blog. I actually quite enjoyed telling my tale at work today to a couple of my fellow co-workers. They too shuddered at the description of his size.

Today was a long day at school at work. Somehow the hours seem to scream by and with today being my "Friday" I had lots of things I wanted to accomplish before I clocked out at 3pm. This meant keeping my head down and working through lunch. I did manage to sneak out in the sunshine for a few minutes up to Auntie V's favourite coffee shop for one of my beloved mountain bars. It's oatmeal-y, chocolate chip-y, sugary goodness kept me going through lunch. But now it's 7pm and I'm ready to chew my arm off. Of course tonight is the night that the propane tank decided to run out of gas, so dinner is delayed yet another 1/2 hour.

The kids had a good day at school, returning home absolutely shattered. Bean has been on two field trips this week to the local grocery store to help pick pumpkins. This is the benefit of being in both the Monday / Wednesday AND Tuesday/Thursday preschool classes in the mornings. He loved going for two rides on the big city bus. We settled into our regular routine after getting home at 3:30pm. Kids start to meltdown, one or both gets sent to their room to get some space, Mama scrounges up some dinner (soup and garlic toast, with watermelon slices tonight), bath, shows, bedtime. Yesterday we started reading one of the chapter books that Schmoo had picked out at the book fair at school. Tonight she and I moved on to Chapter Two. She seems to really like snuggling in with me and listening to the story. She's full of lots of questions about what is happening as we go along.

It's TV night tonight with Grey's Anatomy later. I'm still a couple of hours behind in this week's shows so might be able to sneak in one before tonight's stuff. Tomorrow is Parent-Teacher interview day, so Schmoo is home from school. She's got a playdate lined up in the afternoon, so should be a fun day for all.
