Home day, with a lunch break

It was a pretty quiet day today. Papa came in late last night and was eager for a bit of a lie in this morning. The kids were up early, but were happy enough to play together and watch shows until we were ready to start our day. I got up in time to get them organized with a snack and then walk into town to pick up Papa's car and make it to the gym on time for my morning step class. I think this new work life routine is making my whole body tired as I don't feel as fit as I did before I started work, despite my attempts to get to the gym as much as I can. It felt great to work out though as I know I won't be able to get there again until Friday when Bean and I will go on our usual "date".

I returned home to find Papa in the garden and the kids busy in the house. We got ourselves organized and despite Schmoo's monster meltdown, we headed to Team Indi's favourite coffee shop for lunch in the sunshine up on the patio. The kids share our sandwich and soup combos and enjoyed their own treats - a rice krispie square for Bean and a chocolate chip cookie for Schmoo. I took them all back home and then went back into town for the afternoon. A couple of hours at work and a trip to the mall to pick up groceries and a few other things. The kids were just sitting down for dinner when I returned. The rest of the afternoon was quiet. The kids have pulled the box of mega blocks out this week and have been busy building houses for the people and playing together. Papa was busy today getting himself organized for his big trip tomorrow. He'll be gone for just over a week and we'll miss him while he's gone. At least he'll be able to pass along all the hugs and kisses we want to share with Nana and Grandad!
