And then it was 9:30pm....

photo - such good friends....passing time til dinner....

Where did today go? I can vaguely remember waking myself from the craziest dream where Grandma Lady and I were trying to escaping a burning island, swimming with our luggage to try and catch a jet plane that was in the water nearby. Try explaining that one?! I hit the ground running. After working late last night, I decided to take the kids to school and get in a 1/2 hour later. What a mistake!! I mean don't get me wrong, it was great to take the kids to school and bid them farewell for the morning, but WOW could I have used an extra 1/2 hour at work today. I never seemed to catch my breath. I didn't get half of the things done that I wanted to. Spent the morning looking for answers to mistakes and responding to hostile voicemails. I raced out the door at 11:55am to get up the hill in time to meet Schmoo.

Poor thing wasn't happy when she came out to me. Today was her mystery bag day. They have to put something in the mystery bag, write out three clues and then at circle time the kids have to try and guess what's in the bag. I guess the kindergarten teacher was having the same morning as me and never got to the mystery bags today, so she told the kids to leave them at school and they would do it tomorrow. One problem....Max the dog was in the mystery bag. For those of you who aren't familiar with Max, he is Schmoo's favourite stuffie, second only to her stars blanket. So she was practically in tears when she saw me. Of course the situation was quickly recified when we went back to talk to Mrs. B, who told Schmoo she could take the bag home again tonight (with Max inside) and bring them both back in the morning. Whew! I have to admit when I saw how upset she was I immediately started to worry that she had had her first altercation with another kid in her class. This was a far more manageable crisis.

We picked up Bean after picking up some quick groceries and then swung by my work so I could bring some things home to do in the afternoon. The kids thought is was great to be able to see where Mama worked and even got to meet George, one of the owner's dog. We came home for lunch, a play and some quiet time before heading back into town for a quick trip to the doctor for Mama for a mystery rash. Nothing of concern, just some ezcema that needed some cream to stop the itching. We came home for dinner, a BIG bath and finalized our prepartions for tomorrow's big trip to Cowtown. I left the kids all ready for bed, complete with their teeth brushed with their new watermelon flavoured toothpaste, so I could fit in a trip to the gym.
I returned home with Thai food and some travelling goodies for the car tomorrow. Papa was snoozing on the couch, but we had a nice dinner together at the table. Auntie V called to check in on the necessary food items to have for Schmoo and Bean, as did Grandma Lady to wish us safe travels. Auntie E and the kids are already en route, hoping travelling safe and well. Tomorrow will be a long day for Mama. Up early to pack and head to work and school. We'll head out right from school at noon and hopefully make good time. I'm hoping that if we stop for dinner along the way that the kids will actually fall asleep long before we arrive. Wish me luck! I'll try to drop a few lines while I'm gone if I get the chance. It's a quick trip, back on Sunday night. Nana, Grandad and Auntie J will be in my thoughts, especially on Friday as we hope to get some news soon!
