Rain, Rain, Go Away

So yesterday's snow became rain today. It's awful. With so much snow from yesterday, the roads were a nightmare this morning. Heavy, wet snow....yuck. It took Papa over an hour, just to dig out the driveway and I think he spent at least another two hours today removing snow from our two decks to keep the melting snow from getting too heavy. The road conditions kept him working at home today. Airlie didn't like it either. Apparently when Papa was out in the backyard this morning, all the snow on our neighbour's house came sliding down and scared the living daylights out of her! It's been raining non-stop all day, so the roads are getting clearer, but hopefully the temperature doesn't drop and they all turn into ice.

It was a short day today. After a long and nerve racking drive to school and work, I put in my morning of number crunching and brought the kids home for lunch. The after-school activity consisted of creating forts in both of the kids' rooms for them to play in. They both wanted to actually sleep in their forts at quiet time. We all snuggled down in the afternoon (except Papa, who was shovelling and working) for a mid-week afternoon sleep. Papa got us all up in time for dinner. I headed out to the gym. Yes, my ankle is feeling better. I think it's the funny angles that my foot gets into at soccer that is irritating it. The kids were tucked in bed and Papa had the pizza in the oven when I got home. Now I'm catching up on emails and planning for an earlier night!
