Back in Action

The Activities

The parents are back! After a wonderful Mexican holiday, we have returned to ice cold temperatures and today - more snow! We had a great break. We were lucky enough to get in and out of our local airport, which is known for cancelled flights due to weather in the winter. Our Mexican experience was flawless other than the two days of rain that we had. We still managed to return with sun-kissed cheeks. We had a busy holiday, filled with lots of eating, drinking and late nights. We managed to enjoy a catamaran trip, snorkeling in underwater caves, kayaking on the ocean, snorkeling in the sea, a dance rave along the beach and a late night disco under the full moon. The kids had a great week with their Grandma Lady and were both happy to have us home on Thursday afternoon. They were both bouncing off the walls all day on Thursday after we got home.

Friday was full day. The kids were at daycare and I took Grandma Lady skiing in the sunshine before we headed south to the airport. We managed to sneak in another movie - "The Kite Runner" and were up early this morning so I could drop her off at the airport. I was home by 9:00am after an uneventful drive back. Papa was kind enough to let me have a mid-morning snooze before he took Schmoo to her soccer class, while Bean stayed home with me. Schmoo was pretty excited about soccer today, as we had picked her up a new pair of shin pads to wear. Papa returned with Schmoo and her friend C, so all three kids played through the afternoon, while I was at painting class.

I came out of class to a snow covered car. The snow has returned! Came home to a quiet house and two very tired children. They had an early night and we have already watched a movie with hopes of having an early night ourselves. Sounds like our neighbour has other plans though....you can hear the bass pumping through both house walls!

Schmoo's Favourite and Not Favourite Parts of the Day

Favourite - seeing C and his sister H at soccer
Not Favourite - when C wasn't sharing with her

Thoughts on the Day

It sure feels great to be home, but wow, am I ever tired. All this travelling sure takes it out of you, especially with the extra driving yesterday and today. I'm hoping for a nice quiet home day tomorrow to recoup and get back on track with the kids. Papa is scheduled to be out of town later this week for work, so it will be a busy week. It was so nice to get away, just the two of us and know that the kids were having a great time. It was nice to return and know that they hadn't given Grandma Lady a hard time while we were away too. I'm working on sending out the pictures of our holiday, so hopefully they'll come across your email soon. We did manage to buy a digital camera while we were away, so now I can start taking lots of pictures!
