Snow Day

The Activities

Today was definitely a snow day. After our busy day running around yesterday we had a quiet start to the morning and then spent a few hours (and lunch) with Schmoo and Bean's favorite friends C & H. They have a great backyard, with just enough of a hill to sled down with our toboggan. The moms had their snow pants on too so everyone got a ride and we built a snow-bear instead of a snowman. I was able to sneak away to drop the film off for developing and put the Christmas DVD and pictures in the post to Nana and Grandad.

Home for a quiet afternoon. Bean had a long over due nap. He's going one or two days in a row now without a nap and it makes him cranky and causes him to wake up more in the night. So today after so much fresh air, he definitely needed a snooze. Schmoo snuggled up on the couch after her quiet time in her room and watched Curious George - The Movie. She's just like her Mama, a real movie lover.

Mama went out to the chiropractor and then when I got home, Papa went out to meet a friend for a quick drink. It was a quiet night tonight. Dinner (The Kingdom) and a movie - the usual life of parents of small children, I expect.

Thoughts on the Day

It sure is fun playing around this winter with the kids in the snow. Bean is so solid on his feet now and can move around. It's amazing to watch him figure things out on his own, like how to pick up the rope for the sled or catch his balance trying to climb up a snow pile. He is definitely a determined 2 year old, always wanting to do it himself. He put his sweater on by himself today. What a big boy. Now if only we could peak his interest in potty training!
