Misery insists on company

The Activities

Well, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Poor Beanie was a misery almost all day long. Lucky for me (and unlucky for Papa) I got to be out of the house most of the day. Exercise class in the morning and painting class in the afternoon. Bean just couldn't seem to find a happy groove today. He had temper tantrums. He hit his sister. He refused to listen. He spent time in his room by himself (where he did NOT nap). So he went to bed early. Let's hope tomorrow's a happier day.

Schmoo was much happier. She went to soccer with her Papa at lunchtime and hung out with him in the afternoon. We had a nice bedtime snuggle and she went to bed without much struggle.

I had a great painting class in the afternoon. Great to get my new brushes wet and painting. I have a couple of friends in the class too, which is nice. I made a couple of pit stops on the way home - the local toy store to buy a birthday present for Schmoo's friend Z, who's having a birthday party tomorrow and the movie store. Our evening has been nice. Dinner after the kids were in bed and a movie - all before 9pm. Papa is watching the last bit of hockey and I'm finishing up on the computer.

Schmoo's Favourite and Not Favourite Parts of the Day

Favourite - soccer and winning the Bulldog game at soccer (she was the quickest!)
Not Favourite - none

Thoughts on the Day

The weather is starting to warm up. No more snow forecasted in the immediate future which hopefully means clear skies this week. That's good news, as our local airport is known for having cancelled flights in the winter because of the weather. Both Papa and I are starting to get our things organized. I got some great new things yesterday which will make dressing up more fun. I opted to not get the new dress I was going to go back for today. I tried on another dress (in fact, the one I bought 4 years ago when we went to Florida for the same work trip) and it fits great. The kids loved it when I tried it on and showed them. Schmoo asked if I was going to wear it to her soccer.

It sure is hard when Bean gets into one of his moods. AND it lasted all day today. He gets so frustrated and lashes out in a way that Schmoo never did.....I guess it's the boy in him. I'm pretty sure it's because he's tired. I think his napping days may be close to finished and it's hard on him to not have a nap. Hopefully I can at least keep him going for quiet time so that he can have a nap on the days when he really wants one.
