Family day with interludes of soccer

The sun shone today, but it wow was it windy. This, of course meant a wiggy dog. Here's today's highlights....

- Schmoo up at 6:30am, as usual. Bean up at 7:00am. Both kids were happy to watch morning TV and let us lie in a bit today, which was a nice treat.

- Papa managed to watch the first half of one soccer game before we went down to the park for our second attempt at the fun race. We made it just in time to do the kids race loop and get our goodies - a juice box, granola bar and jar of bubbles. We ran into our friend F from gymnastics class, had a swing at the playground and made our way back to the car.

- Papa headed home to catch the second soccer game and I took the kids to the mall to pick up a bike helmet and baby gift. We stayed for a sandwich at Quiznos and then headed home.

- Bean had a big sleep today, which was overdue. Poor thing really suffered with night terrors last night, likely because he hadn't had a nap in two days. He had another relatively successful potty day today with going without a pull-up. Only one little accident.

- I headed out for my first bike ride in about 6 years on our newly tuned up bike. It felt great to be outside and riding again. The wind provided extra resistance to my riding.

- Papa headed out after 3pm for a quick round of 9 holes with his friend L. I hung out with the kids after their quiet time. They played in the backyard for a bit, until I had to discipline Schmoo for yelling at Bean and saying "I hate you".

- Kids to bed at their usual time. Papa finished watching the Toronto soccer game while I made our Thai beef dinner and then we settled in to watch a movie.

Ready for another busy week with lots of rain, by looks of the forecast.
