How to remove sand from your bathing suit

This is what it looks like. The pictures don't actually do any justice to how funny it was to watch Schmoo try to remove large quantities of sand from her bikini bottom. First she put her swim suit on over her panties and when I pointed this out to her, she insisted on removing the panties while standing in the sand, which lead to her putting the swim suit back on with large clumps of sand. My friend D and I had a great time laughing at her trying to wash it out!

Another beach day today, although not as nice as yesterday. It was super windy and more overcast today. The kids didn't seem to mind though. We met our friends C & H down at the beach after our trip to the gym this morning and a quick pit stop back at home for a shower and lunch gathering. The kids ran around like lunatics at the park, singing and chasing eachother. We spent time at the playground and at the beach. By 2:30pm I was done though and so my original plan to go for a tram ride was thrown out the window.
It was another restless night of sleep here. Bean was up at 3:00am for a snuggle and a pee (hooray). Schmoo then decided at 4:15am that it would be a good idea to wake up herself. I sent her back to her room with instructions to go back to bed, but I'm pretty sure she didn't. She came back in at 7:00am asking to get up to watch Clifford.

We came home for some quiet time and were pleasantly surprised to find Papa working at home. Apparently I had forgotten to put the dog back in the house when we rushed out to the beach. Oops! The kids went in their rooms for quiet time, but it was short lived. I wanted to ensure that Schmoo DIDN'T have a nap today, so when I checked on her after 1/2 hour and saw her snuggling down in her blankets, I got her up. Bean heard her get up, so of course demanded to come out as well. I wasn't interested in arguing. Papa graciously encouraged me to go for a nap while he tended to the children and their dinner. I got up at 5pm and he has gone out to meet a friend for a drink. He's headed home to make Thai curry later on.

Potty update!!! Today has been Bean's second successful potty day. He woke up with a dry pullup again, most likely with the help from the late night pee. I was worried about the gym, but we figured out that if the babysitters came to get me when he said he was ready, then he would go on the potty. Sure enough, I got called twice - once for a pee AND once for a poo. I'm trying very hard not to get excited. We're working on the last bag of pullups, so once their gone we're going to have a party and then no more pullups!!
