And so begins Schmoo's schooling milestones. She walked the stage tonight at her preschool graduation, complete with hat and certificate. Her one teacher commented to the group that the time between now and their high school graduation goes so quickly. We had a great time at the year end BBQ and graduation party. Schmoo hardly spoke to us, having a great time running around with her various friends. It was actually funny to see her sprinting off with a little girl instead of her usual gaggle of boys. Bean wandered around on his own a bit, but kept coming back for assistance at the craft tables or eating. They both loved getting their faces painted by clown and got balloon animals to take away. Papa and I managed quick visits with various parents while we kept an eye out, mostly for Bean. Thankfully both kids managed to have a big nap this afternoon. Schmoo is easy to convince now when there's an activity in the evening. Bean was a harder sell, but at least he finally settled today. I even went out on a limb and didn't put him in a pullup during his quiet time. He came through without incident, but I learned that I should immediately take him for a pee as he proceeded to pee on the floor about 10 minutes after getting up. We'll get there...two steps forward, one step back.

The rest of the day was busy. We headed to the gym first thing this morning and then out to our friend G's house for a lunchtime playdate. The three kids played together well again today so that A and I could have a bit of a visit. It wasn't warm enough for the watersliding we had planned to do, but the kids managed to keep themselves busy doing crafts inside and then playing on the regular slide outside. The highlight (or maybe low light) of the visit was when Schmoo went outside to find her shoes and called out because she had managed to step in some dog poo. The hose came out and we washed her feet down before we packed up and headed home at 1:30pm. Papa managed to be home for part of the Germany - Portugal soccer game and worked from home for the rest of the afternoon. The preschool party was a fun way to end our day!
