Guess what's for supper tomorrow night?

Wild BC Spot prawns....thanks to Papa's special order from work. The kids had fun helping Papa pull the heads off the pound of prawns that he got through work today. He'll be cooking them up tomorrow night, with some steak, for an adult family dinner with Auntie E and Uncle R. When he asked the kids if they wanted shrimp or sushi for dinner tomorrow, Schmoo replied sushi and Bean replied shrimp! It was a rainy day here today. The first real rainy day this week after the weather forecast had been threatening rain all week. Schmoo seems to be waking up earlier and earlier these days - time to put the towel up over her window I think. I was amazed the other night / morning when I woke up at 4:30am and could see it getting light outside. We got ourselves organized to get to the gym just after 8:30am. We arrived at the same time as C & H who were coming with their mom, D for the same class. Mayhew broke loose. The kids were running around after eachother in the parking lot - a great start to me having to shout at them to stop today. The gym class was good. Hard work, but a great class. I showered and then took the kids down to the mall to see if Schmoo could get her hair cut. They were able to fit us in straight away. She looks so grown up with her hair cut shorter. I'd love to leave it long, but seeing as she won't let me put ponytails or anything in it, it doesn't make sense to keep it so long.
I called D after our mall excursion and we met up at the bakery with the kids for lunch. They all behaved well until lunch was finished and it was time to pick a cookie. They all went racing down the sidewalk outside the bakery and so I knew it was time to head home. Plus it was starting to rain. We came home and had another nice quiet afternoon. Bean had a big sleep and after Schmoo's quiet time in her room, she curled up with me on the couch for 1/2 hour. We had another nice visit together on the couch, talking about the movie I had rented for them yesterday. I decided that I didn't want them to watch it again after I had seem some of the scenes. Too much rude talking and mean actions for them to watch more than once at this point.

A funny story - during my conversation with Schmoo on the couch, we talked about getting owies. She had scraped her knee at the mall and we were talking about whether I had gotten owies when I was a little girl. She asked "did you get owies when you were little, like your polka dot chin?" I couldn't help laughing at her reference to the acne breakout on my chin that just never seems to go away.

Papa was home in the mid-afternoon and managed a 1/2 hour snooze himself before carrying on with his work downstairs. The kids had their supper and watched some shows before it was bedtime. Papa headed out for his soggy soccer game and after bedtime I settled in to eat my homemade calzone and salad and watch a movie. I'm already missing my Thursday night TV shows and they only finished last week!
