Doing it all

As a working mother (although part-time) I'm now in the ongoing race to "do it all". The time available to do things around the house and outside of the house are limited now by the time we spend at school and work. Thankfully I do not aspire to great things when it comes to things like sparkling clean floors or gourmet meals. I do however like to keep my children satisfied with homebaked goodies once in a while, so today was banana chocolate chip muffin making day. The bananas on the counter were ripe for using, so this afternoon, after I put in today's load of laundry and vacuumed the whole house, I whipped up a batch of our favourite muffins. Bean was sure to have one after his dinner and bath tonight and they each have one ready for munching in their lunchboxes tomorrow.

There isn't really much else to report today. We had a quiet afternoon at home. Neither of the kids were interested in sleeping (of course) and we worked through a number of different sibling tantrums throughout the afternoon. Both kids had a big hair-washing bath tonight in preparation for Schmoo's picture day at school tomorrow. I left them snuggled on the couch for their evening show and headed out to the gym for my step class. I returned to find supper ready for the oven and Papa watching the latest Jamie Oliver adventure down in Australia. Dinner was scrumptious and now I'm headed to bed early. Tomorrow's a busy day - a long day at work and then the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy!!! I even have a date to go and watch it a my friend C's house!
