The rest of the day was busy. We were up and organized for our usual morning activity - a trip to the gym. There aren't very many of those days left. The day did start with the most wonderful moment though. After Papa got up, Schmoo came into our bed and we had the most wonderful snuggle. She curled right up beside me and lay still for the longest time, until started having a whispered conversation about the day ahead. It was pretty precious, especially considering the big changes about to happen. We stayed in town after the gym to run some errands, including a trip to one of the ski shops in town where I bought the kids their new winter snow suits. I had seen them on sale on my main street walk yesterday, so took them back to try them on. They were both pretty excited. It doesn't solve the small / breaking raincoat issue at the moment, but I think the spring/fall coats we have will get us through until the kids can start wearing these new winter jackets.
We talking about staying in town for lunch at the bakery, but Bean had a bit of a peeing accident in a shop so we had to run down the street back to the car to change is clothes and head back home for lunch. It wasn't such a bad thing. The kids ran around, ate lunch and then had some quiet time before I had to take Schmoo back to town to her last dental appointment. She did great again. She was a bit leary this time to get the freezing needles, but still put on an incredibly brave show for the dentist. We were in and out in 1/2 hour and met up with Papa, Bean and Airlie who had walked into town to meet us. We made stop at the local theatre to buy our season's tickets for their theatre productions and then made our way back home.
Dinner wasn't a happy event. Both kids were hungry and tired and Schmoo really struggled to eat with the freezing in her jaw. So she got upset. I managed to whip up a smoothie that helped until she could finally get the Cheerios down. I made the mistake about trying to talk to her about the daycare at her new school, which sent her into a new set of hysterics. Bad timing on my part as she was obviously tired, sore and hungry. I left the kids with Papa to watch the latest DVD to go to Nana and Grandad and made a quick run to the grocery store. I returned for our snuggly bedtime stories. Papa whipped up a gourmet pasta carbonara dinner with sausage from the local deli and then we watched a movie. Now I'm just getting myself organized for tomorrow. Forms filled out - check. New batteries in the camera - check. Bean's bag packed - check. Kleenex for my pockets - check.
