You better shape up

whoo, whoo, whoo......it's girls night out tonight. C, D and I are headed to the local theatre where they are showing "Grease" on the big screen, with sing-a-long lyrics right on the screen. It's a fundraiser for the theatre company, so the place will be full of mostly women, I'm sure singing our hearts out. We talked about dressing up, but have decided against it. It was an all of us or noone proposition.
Today has been a busy Saturday. Kids were up early. In fact, Schmoo was up twice in the night, pitter pattering beside our bed. Papa was up early too to watch soccer. I headed out at 9am to the gym and met up with the rest of the family at Schmoo's dance class. She seemed more focussed today after our many conversations about listening to the teacher. Papa and I swapped cars. He headed up to the rental house to finish painting his drywall project and then headed out for an afternoon of golf with his friend L. The kids and I went down to the mall for a Quiznos lunch and then did the grocery shopping. Schmoo was especially excited to run into one of her friends from school in the grocery store. We brought the groceries home and then went out again to go swimming for an hour or so. Bean had asked to go swimming in the week, so I thought it would be fun to take them today. It was a bit of a juggle, but both kids had a good time. The highlight was Schmoo's first ride down the waterslide all by herself. She obviously grew over the summer as she was finally tall enough to ride. She was hesitant at first, but was excited after riding down the first time.

We returned home for the rest of the afternoon and supper together and have been watching "The Fox and the Hound". Soon it will be bedtime and I'll be on my way out for the evening. Papa has returned and is busy making squash soup for our family dinner tomorrow night with our usual two families.
