Winter is not ready to give up yet. Around 3pm, the flakes started to fall and now in the evening, the snow has stopped but there is a thick covering of it on the grass and rooftops. It's supposed to be nice again tomorrow, so it will be gone again in a day, but it sure plays havoc on your internal temperature when the weather keeps changing.
We had a relatively uneventful day. Off to the gym in the morning and then up to visit the kids' friend F for an hour before heading home for lunch. It's always fun to see Bean playing with F, one of his only boy friends his age. Schmoo plays well with them too, enjoying the opportunity to direct the play. We left in a flurry as Bean decided he was going to hit Schmoo with a car, so it was time to go. We came home for lunch and then quiet time. Bean was a hard sell today. We argued several times before he finally settled down into a sleep. Schmoo didn't sleep today, so bedtime came earlier and faster.
I tried to have some quiet time today too, to no avail. Spent the afternoon getting the laundry done for our trip this weekend. Let's hope the weather lifts by Friday so we'll be able to fly out. The kids had their eggs and bacon supper and then after Babar we tried around of the Dora Candyland game. Bean is slowly starting to be able to play this game on his own, but with lots of reminding about the directions. Papa was home late, after 6pm, after a full day on the road. We stood at the backdoor tonight watching Airlie pace the fence with the neighbour's dog, barking of course. She was wagging her tail, so we think she's actually enjoying herself. The neighbour's dog is certainly always happy to see her. Maybe it's a blessing - just send her out three times a day for 10 minutes and she gets a good workout. Half an hour later, she's still lying on the floor panting. Tomorrow will be busy getting organized for the weekend and maybe even a night out for Mama!
Schmoo's Favourite Parts of the Day
Favourite - visiting F
Not Favourite - when Bean hit her with a car and when she fell and scratched her side
