The Activities
The kids seem to be on the mend today. They were up early and raring to go. Papa got up with them so I could have a few extra minutes, but I was still up by 8am. I headed out to the gym for my class and came home to Papa cleaning out our room - bed pulled out to vacuum, sheets in the wash, duvet on the line outside. It was beautiful here today. A real spring day, so it was nice to put our duvet out to air and open some windows for a few hours. I got cleaned up and then we all headed into town. Papa and Schmoo went to soccer and Bean and I went for a walk down the hill to check out single beds. We're hoping to get him a big boy bed for his birthday later this month. We were back in time to watch the last 20 minutes of Schmoo's soccer. She runs around with the group, but still doesn't get stuck right in to get the ball. She did have a couple of chances to run with the ball, and almost scored too! Her friend C plays soccer too, so Bean had fun running around with his little sister H, who was there to watch with their dad.
We came home for lunch and quiet time. The afternoon passed quickly and I headed out at 3pm to help volunteer down at the local Safeway. The non-profit organization that I volunteer for was doing a fundraising drive so I went to do my part. I came home to a very cranky Schmoo. She's obviously still not feeling the greatest as she fell asleep quickly. Bean was up for a bit longer and then I settled him down to bed while Papa ran out to get his beer to watch the hockey on TV tonight. Not sure my plans. Probably do some computer stuff and watch some TV I have on DVD.
Schmoo's Favourite and Not Favourite Parts of the Day
Favourite - playing soccer
Not Favourite - when she didn't get a granola bar, because she didn't eat any of her dinner
Thoughts on the Day
It was so great to see the sunshine today. We all were able to walk around outside without our winter coats, just our sweaters and toques. It was fun to go and watch Schmoo play soccer today. Bean, of course, spent most of his time eating his muffin, but did manage to run around kicking a ball a bit too with the other younger siblings. He definitely seems to be feeling better. His energy is up. Schmoo, on the other hand, is still pretty cranky. We're managing her cranky mood, which I'm hoping is just a case of her not feeling great. Papa is feeling better today too.
